We are looking for an ambitious and motivated pharmacy assistant to join our current team in this friendly, kind and forward thinking pharmacy department.

This is a part time role for 27 hours per week, one day must be a long day until 6pm, other days/hours to be negotiated for the right candidate.

This specific position is based in the inpatient pharmacy. Candidates need to be self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic. Full training will be given and dispensing/distribution qualification of BTec 2 offered if the successful candidate does not have previous pharmacy experience.

This role requires staff to work between the dispensary and distribution sections of the pharmacy department. There is an element of heavy lifting in our IV fluid store.

You will join our friendly team of pharmacy assistants, technicians and pharmacists who work together to manage the accurate and efficient supply of both dispensed and stock medicines to the hospital patients and our community clients.

Although there is an element of customer facing work, most outpatient dispensing is carried out through our outpatient pharmacy.

Weekends are worked on a rotational basis (currently about 1 in 8 weekends are worked). There is also a bank holiday rota in operation which does not currently require any member of staff to work more than 1 per year.
