As a result of a merger and restructure we have two exciting roles which are based in either our Brighton and Haywards Heath, or our Worthing and Chichester sites.

These two deputy Chief Pharmacist roles are responsible for the day to day running of the Pharmacy operations at the West and East sides of our geography. You will be the first point of contact for the Trust's managing Directors looking after each of the main sites and the first point of contact for the senior managers with responsibility for planned and unscheduled care.

This is an ideal opportunity to prepare to be a Chief Pharmacist in a major institution and you will be coached and given the headroom to experience and manage aspects of the Chief Pharmacist role as you progress.

Manages all pharmacy staff operationally when participating in services of either the RSCH and PRH, or St Richards and Worthing Hospitals.

To be responsible for the management of budgets delegated by the Chief Pharmacist

The lead operational manager for the West side will additionally have responsibility for Education and Training.

You will be a supportive manager looking to coach and develop our clinical staff and to encourage our clinical experts to share their expertise.

You will also be expected to engage with our (much copied) patient first management system which forms the performance framework for our improvement and also the way we govern; training will be provided.

The Trust is spread throughout Sussex and each major site has its own attractions but all have good access to the South Downs National Park and easy access to the Coast. As the major acute Trust in Sussex we accept that we have an important responsibility to work closely with other healthcare partners and you will be expected to nurture those relationships.
