No evening work or late duties | 22.5 hours per week
Up to £47,250 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience) Includes a £3,000.00 Golden Hello Incentive (Pro-Rata).

Working closely in support of our Pharmacy Manager, as our Pharmacist you will play a key role in delivering an excellent level of service to our patients.
Responsibilities within the role will include:

Undertaking clinical ward-based duties including ward rounds, prescription chart screening, medicines reconciliation and patient counselling on discharge medication, supported by our Pharmacy Technician.

Working closely with ward-based RMO and Consultants to optimise prescribing in the peri-operative period for our patients.

Working as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team within the hospital, liaising with all departments and specialities.

Screening of discharge and outpatient prescriptions prior to dispensing.

Dispensing and final accuracy checking when required.

Procurement and billing.

Supporting our Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Assistant in the clinical and dispensary environments.

Supporting our Oncology Pharmacist with chemotherapy prescription screening and ordering of IV chemotherapy.

Development of guidelines and protocols to support safe patient care.

Undertaking audit and other project work.

Service improvement initiatives.

Representing the Pharmacy Department at committee meetings within the hospital.

To succeed as a Pharmacist in our team:

You must possess a degree level qualification in Pharmacy.

You must be registered as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Society in the UK.

You must be able to work as part of our team to deliver a high quality pharmacy service to wards and departments where patient experience and safety is at the heart of everything we do.

You will have experience either within hospital or community pharmacy.
-
You will require good IT skills, good literacy, numeracy and excellent communication skills.

Previous experience of providing a Pharmacy service to surgical or oncology patients is an advantage, but not essential.
-
Previous experience of supervising, training and mentoring of other staff is an advantage.
