Working within HMP Lincoln provides an exciting opportunity for all healthcare professionals. The fully Integrated Healthcare Team provides a wide variety of care from initial assessment / screening for all new patients

We aim to provide healthcare to offenders that is equivalent to those in the community.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team who provide integrated healthcare (physical healthcare, mental health and substance misuse services.

Our Pharmacy Technicians work across 7 days to ensure that all medication administration is completed in a safe manner. Our Technician support and advising our prescribing team about safer prescribing. Ensure that all medications are ordered, via the electronic prescribing on Systmone, ensuring all our patients have their medications available when they need them,

Our pharmacy team are also responsible for completing medication reconciliation for all new arrivals, complete ongoing medication optimisation support and reviews, take the lead on safe storage and use of medications.

The team also deliver a Smoking Cessation support programme and administer Opioid Substitute Treatment.

The successful candidates will have BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, Current Professional registration as Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council and evidence of up to date CPD portfolio.

Be able to effectively work as part of a team, supporting all aspects of the supply and distribution of medications, to ensure the safe, timely and accurate provision of medication to patients.

Undertake accurate Risk Assessments to ascertain whether patients may hold their medications ‘In Possession’ or otherwise, recording appropriately.

Responsible for ensuring medicines kept in Emergency Bags are properly maintained, replenished and regular checks are completed.

Respond to MHRA drug alerts through facilitation of appropriate action within prison healthcare over an appropriate timeframe and to support any medication changes that occur as a result.

Accurately input, process and file data, both computerised and paper based, to ensure accurate record keeping and to facilitate its timely retrieval.

Contribute to the development of and support implementation of medicine management strategy and associated services and projects.
