Lead Pharmacist - Orthopaedics

Band 8a, 1.0wte, 37.5 hours, - Permanent

£53,513 - £57,767

(weekend and public holidays rota commitment included)

The vision for the Pharmacy & Medicines service is to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian get the best from their medicines and pharmacy services. The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is a large teaching hospital and has an established reputation for offering the best practice across a wide variety of specialist services. The Orthopaedic Service comprises 25 elective orthopaedics bed, 86 emergency beds and specialist outpatient services and the post holder will work alongside the Lead Pharmacist for Major Trauma Centre for Scotland.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic lead pharmacist to deliver and develop the pharmacy service to orthopaedics. The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, provide leadership and work collaboratively with the other lead pharmacists to make most efficient use of available resources.

Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), have relevant post-registration experience, including independent prescribing, postgraduate qualification and evidence of training and professional development. You must be a confident communicator and demonstrate adaptive leadership skills with a track record of influencing changes in practice.
