Job overview

As a rheumatology specialist pharmacist you will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care to the rheumatology directorate. We are a digitally advanced organisation and will support you to do this through the implementation of innovative technologies and work systems.

You will already have completed a post graduate clinical diploma and ideally hold a non-medical prescribing qualification.

The role will expose the postholder to a wide range of stakeholders and will provide the opportunity to expand networks.

Main duties of the job

Work closely with the senior rheumatology pharmacist to provide a clinical pharmacy service to the rheumatology directorate
Deliver a regular DMARD drug education outpatient clinic
Be involved in the management of the rheumatology homecare service and day case prescriptions
Provide senior pharmacist support to a designated medical ward
Act as the responsible pharmacist in the inpatient dispensary
Along with all other members of the clinical team, contribute to the provision of the extended hours and on call pharmacy service.

Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council of GB as a practicing pharmacist

Vocational Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent

Knowledge and skills

Essential criteria

Professional knowledge acquired through vocational master’s degree in pharmacy (4 years)
Good all round clinical knowledge and practical clinical skills
Commitment to continuing professional development / education.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
