Counter Assistant Role- OTC Trained
Reports to- Supervisor/Pharmacy Manager
At Manor Pharmacy, we pride ourselves on helping our local community with the service that we offer. As a counter assistant, you are the first person our customers see. You will be welcoming and assist them with any queries they may have. You will be trained to offer advice on common ailments and must know when to refer a customer to a pharmacist.
To be the best, you must complete an accredited medicine counter assistant course, which will be funded by Manor Pharmacy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide excellent customer service, be polite + courteous to customers
- Offer informed advice on appropriate treatment of minor ailments and products (following OTC protocol)
- Use the cash register to serve customers
- Provide and support the team in delivering pharmacy services
- Maintain high standards of branch appearance through effective merchandising and housekeeping.
- Sell medicines and handle prescriptions in line with the current pharmacy legislation and company policy
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and adhere to the company dress code
- Follow the company SOPs, procedures and protocols
- Ensure that company housekeeping and date checking procedures are followed
- Report any matters affecting the company, customer service, security etc to your line manager
- Maintain good relationships with the pharmacy team, feeding-back relevant customer comments and concerns with the aim of improving the customer experience
- Participate in achieving the full stores quota of the CPPQ
- Maintain and submit all required paperwork
- Follow up on commitments made to customers
- Welcome customers with a smile
- Capitalise on all opportunities to support the customer within your store
- Go the extra mile to help and support customer
You must meet/exceed your personal objectives that have been set for you and play a key role in driving the store to meet its target.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have a current development plan and an action that you will be working on for the next 12 months continuously
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week
Salary: £9.50-£10.16 per hour

Experience:
- Pharmacy: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Counter assistant NVQ (preferred)
