We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our Pharmacy Distribution team. You will work closely with the Lead Pharmacy Technician, Patient Services and Senior Rotational Pharmacy Technician's and will manage the day to day running of Pharmacy Stores, ensuring workload is dealt with promptly and efficiently. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the top-up rota
- Receive deliveries
- Process ad hoc stock requests from wards and departments.
- Ensure the Emergency Drug Cupboard is stocked appropriately
- Undertake regular expiry date checks and ensuring good stock control is maintained.
- Train and supervise rotational staff within pharmacy stores
- Assist in the stock management of Medical Gases
- To have a full understanding of the automated dispensing system (ROBOT) and participate in the daily maintenance schedule and troubleshooting, including adding Drugs to the Robot Database.
- Liaising with the Hospital Porters to arrange delivery of stock to wards and departments
- Work effectively as part of a team
We are looking for a candidate with proven organisational and time management skills, good interpersonal skills, prior experience of working in a hospital environment and with medicines would be desirable. Candidates must hold or be able to complete NVQ2 Pharmaceutical Science.
To accurately receive deliveries into Pharmacy Stores, to accurately process Pharmacy requests from wards and departments. To regularly check the gas manifolds and the medical gases and to maintain a safe and tidy stores environment.
To ensure that all documentation is completed accurately, in a timely manner and filed in the appropriate location.
To upkeep and maintain all stores equipment as necessary including but not limited to the fridges, min/max thermometers, cages and trolleys.
To check the emergency drugs cupboard is stocked up appropriately and that it is kept clean, tidy and secure at all times, including daily stock and expiry checks.
To work effectively as a team member.
To assist with the training of new and rotational staff under the direction of the Purchasing lead.
To ensure that infection prevention and control is an integral part of service delivery.
