We are keen to offer an exciting development opportunity to work as lead pharmacist with our vibrant, continually-developing and burgeoning Crisis, Assessment and Treatment Teams (CATT), while a colleague is on maternity leave. The teams value pharmacy input immensely and are very forward-thinking, embracing new and developing technology to enhance service user care.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated with good communication skills and a keen interest in mental health who derive satisfaction from developing both the service and pharmacy colleagues. The applicants should be able to work well both in a team and autonomously.
The pharmacist will be part of a vibrant, expanding team. Building on the excellent pharmacy service with bases in the five main Trust sites, the team includes pharmacists dedicated to OPMHS, CAMHS, perinatal and the MINT Teams as well as the Crisis teams. There is a team focus on growth and development, including Clinical Diplomas, non-medical prescribing qualifications, consultant pharmacist accreditation and writing articles and posters for publication.
Examples Of Initiatives Include
The successful candidate will lead and continue the development of the clinical pharmacy services to the three CATTs, optimising pharmaceutical care for service users in crisis across the three boroughs of Ealing, H&F and Hounslow.
- Collaborating with MDT colleagues to develop the medication module of the Clinical Summary Portal
- Increasing clinical input e.g. pharmacist-led medication reviews, pharmacist input into HBPO
The candidate will continue the work to promote and develop optimal medicines management processes within the CATTs.
The candidate will provide training and development on medicines management in mental health to junior and trainee staff, including trainee pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacy technicians and visiting trainee pharmacists. The candidate will act as a practice supervisor, educational supervisor and/or designated supervisor to trainee staff as necessary and appropriate.
The candidate will work in collaboration with the rest of the West London NHS Trust pharmacy team to provide pharmacy services across the Trust. Where necessary, the candidate may be asked to cover colleagues’ leaves of absence.
