The post holder will be expected to work with the lead pharmacist to develop clinical pharmacy services within Tower Hamlets directorate. They will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Trust’s clinical pharmacy standards as well as ensuring the clinical service is of high quality and patient-focused. They will identify gaps and problem areas in the service and will use quality improvement methodology to make positive changes.

We are seeking a Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist to join our dynamic Tower Hamlets mental health team as the Clinical Lead. In this role you will provide clinical pharmacy and medicines management services to all mental health services. You will also be responsible for managing and growing a small pharmacy team in collaboration with the Lead Pharmacist. We are an expanding trust which means there is lots of opportunity for experience and growth. We cover Adult inpatients, CAMHS, Perinatal Services, Crisis and Home Treatment teams, Community Mental Health and you will have the opportunity to link in with our pharmacy teams in Community Health Services and Primary Care.

We are hoping to find someone who works well with a pharmacy team. You will also need the skills to be able to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals. You will want to develop and improve the reliability and quality of our clinical pharmacy service. You will be passionate about wanting to support patients and their families through their recovery process and about managing and optimising medicines collaboratively.

Some mentor or management experience is desirable, but full training in this area will be provided. We also have a comprehensive Quality Improvement Training that you will be able to get involved in.
