About Our Pharmacy Service
An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to contribute to our team in providing a high quality and respected clinical pharmacy service to Care of the Elderly and Frail patients.
You will be based at Colchester Hospital, spending a significant proportion of time working clinically at ward level and within the Frailty unit.
Being a key member of the multidisciplinary team you will be expected to fully integrate within the clinical environment to include having some responsibility for patients at both Harwich and Clacton hospitals.

Assisting the department in providing a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to patients within East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).
Work closely with senior colleagues and clinical technicians to ensure the provision of an integrated and efficient clinical service.
Clinical practice will be centred around the Care-of-the-Elderly wards at the Colchester Hospital site but will also include some oversite/awareness of pharmacy services to the wards at Harwich and Clacton hospitals (longer stay and rehabilitation areas).
If not already achieved, it is expected that you will undertake the postgraduate education offered by the department e.g. Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice.
Further support will be offered to help facilitate progression to becoming an Independent Prescriber.
You will also receive training deemed necessary regarding working with Care-of-the-Elderly and Frail patients.
Work clinically at ward level; although it is an expectation that you will also support other clinical colleagues within the department as the holistic service requires.
